The Dream

I wondered why I never had a dream
Through all the nights and days since you have gone
Until last night, so plain, so plain you came
To give the sign I waited for so long.
You seemed so happy where you seemed to be
I heard the laugh, the music in your song
The child once more, that when you looked at me
I could not ask you what on earth went wrong.

The years don't matter now they're outside time
The moon can rise to struggle with the tide
The stars can turn the heavens as they climb
from east to west the planets wander blind.
You left me once your path in life to find,
You came at night, in dreams, to ease my mind.
